Among these topics are: different definitions and models of language and the linguistic sign, and the question of meaning in linguistics, philosophy and cultural theory. We will also explore distinctions and questions such as sense and reference; text, discourse, context, pretext and inter-text; speech act and performativity; what are (linguistic) facts and how do they relate to theories?
