Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to support students who are working on their MA theses. To do so, we will read and discuss your proposals and tables of content, a selection from your choice of primary work(s), bibliographies, and critical or analytical writing samples. Each participant will submit materials and present work samples to the course members over the course of the seminar. We will address questions concerning individual projects, selection of sources, methodology, procedures for research, general MA guidelines and expectations, and academic writing style and formats. We will also address issues of organizing the final phase, incl. how to register your thesis, upload your thesis, plagiarism check and the oral defense.

After the class, participants will have gained a clearer sense of the stage their thesis project is in, their academic writing strategies and how to further develop them, and will have tested new strategies and methods to further proceed with their project.

It is recommended that you sign up for this class when you have found a supervisor and a topic for your thesis paper.
