Aims, contents and method of the course

certain aspects of Romantic literature in Russian and Ukrainian language: the events of 1812 in Russian literature, the literary works of the members of the Decabrist movement, Russian-German contacts in literature and others; the so called "Kharkiv" and "L´viv" school in Ukrainian Romantics, the Kyrillo-Methodian Brotherhood and others

Assessment and permitted materials

presence, presentation, paper according to BA-standarts

insight into the political dimension of East Slavonic Romantics
working out of a concept for a paper

Examination topics

discussion of texts for introduction, revealing of ideological aspects of fictional texts, reference to the historic background
