Aims, contents and method of the course

Central characteristics of the Finnish language: phonology and orthography, morphology, lexicon, syntax.

Assessment and permitted materials

Schriftliche Prüfung.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge of the Finnish language: no active communicative competence but a basic ability to work with Finnish language material, i.e. to analyse and understand texts with the help of dictionaries and grammars. Knowledge of the position of the Finnish language in the European language diversity and in the Finno-Ugric language family.

Examination topics

Vortrag, Diskussionen, begleitende Lektüre.
