Aims, contents and method of the course

Basic information about the Finnic languages: Finnish, Estonian and their sister languages (Karelian, Veps, Vote, Ingrian, Livonian). Finnish and Estonian in comparison with each other and as part of the original Finnic language area.

Assessment and permitted materials

Schriftliche Prüfung.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Basic knowledge of the historical background and the areal-linguistic context of Finnish and Estonian.

Examination topics

Vortrag, Diskussion, begleitende Lektüre.
