Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course is an introductory course to methods of literary analysis. The approaches include rhetorics, narratology, poetry analysis, intertextual and comparative analysis, contextualization, and genre analysis.
Assessment and permitted materials
Attendance at weekly meetings, participation in the discussions, making of the exercises.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students learn the basics of different theoretical and methodological approaches to literature, and apply them with Finnish literature as a prime source material.
Examination topics
group working, classroom and online discussion, short essays
