historical data on hetman Ivan St. Mazepa in the context of history of the Ukraine in the 17/18 century; his career in European literatures in the first and second half of the 19th century; aftermath in Ukrainian literature of the 20th century

knowledge of the most important literary works on Mazepa (by Voltaire, Byron, Hugo, Pushkin a.o.)
