Zentraler Text des Konservatoriums ist Roland Barthes „Fragmente einer Sprache der Literatur“, in der der französische Kulturtheoretiker in Form eines Lexikons das Verhältnis von Sprache und Eros thematisiert und zugleich die wichtigsten Gesten und Gebärden der Liebe vorstellt. Barthes´ Buch basiert nicht zuletzt auf der europäischen Literatur des 18., 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. Eine entscheidende Rolle spielt vor allem Goethes epochaler Roman „Werthers Leiden“.
Das Seminar wird im ersten Teil Barthes Kulturtheorie der Liebe sowie anderen philosophische Konzepte (Stendhal, Luhmann, Kristeva) behandeln und dabei auch kurz auf Goethes Roman eingehen. Im zweiten Teil des Seminars werden wir Barthes „Fragmente“ vornehmlich anhand von Texten aus der ungarischen Literatur des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts(Kosztolányi, Esterházy, Márai) diskutieren. Eine Liste der Texte liegt zu Beginn des Semesters vor.
