Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Lehrveranstaltung gibt einen Überblick über die Vielfalt und Kompliziertheit des Phänomens Sprache – mit besonderer Hinsicht auf Sprachen wie Ungarisch oder Finnisch – und die verschiedenen Methoden, mit welchen diese Vielfalt erforscht wird. Die wichtigsten Teilgebiete der Sprachstruktur und ihrer Erforschung, von Phonetik und Phonologie über Morphologie und Syntax bis zur Semantik und Pragmatik, werden kurz behandelt.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Ziel der Lehrveranstaltung ist, Grundkenntnisse über die Ziele und Fragestellungen der Sprachwissenschaft zu bieten. Die Studierenden sollen die Ziele, Funktionen und Positionierung der sprachwissenschaftlichen Forschung verstehen, den Inhalt von wichtigen Begriffen wie "Sprachverwandtschaft", "Spracherwerb", "Dialekt" oder "Mehrsprachigkeit" kennen, sowie mit der sprachwissenschaftlichen Terminologie in ihren weiteren philologischen Studien umgehen können.
