Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

"Finno-Ugric Studies, aha ... and what do you do there ?!"

This internship deals with communication and PR in science - because science does not exist for its own sake and the results of research work are also relevant beyond the infamous ivory tower, they just have to be communicated accordingly. Under the heading "Science 2 Public" there is a multitude of publications, events and lecture series - among the most famous are probably the extremely successful Science Busters - which not only make the world of science way more accessible, but also generate interest in all kinds of scientific disciplines.

The Viennese Finno-Ugrian Department has set itself the goal of communicating its work and, above all, the various study options and diverse contents of Finno-Ugric Studies to the outside world. As part of the project internship, the students are therefore involved in the development of a modern, comprehensive public relations strategy for the Finno-Ugrian Department - from the definition of specific communication goals and the development of a targeted communication strategy to the practical implementation of specific communication measures via various communication channels (including blogging & social media ).
So, at the end of the semester, the participants will be able to give more than one really good answer to the question asked above.
