Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Introduction to contemporary Skoltsámi language, a highly endangered Sámi language native to Northern Finland and Northwestern Russia. The course will be taught in English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Evaluation of learning progress over the course of the semester and a written exam at the end of the semester.

Examination topics

Participation is mandatory; active participation will be evaluated. Students will be provided with (unpublished) teaching materials in the course; the examination at the end of the semester will review their content covered over the course of the semester.

Reading list

The English-language teaching resources used in class are currently unpublished; students will be provided with them in the course. They are largely based on a Finnish-language source:
