Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course builds on STEOP's acquired knowledge from the previous term and intensifies the skills acquired there. It introduces the students to the independent writing of smaller written works (book criticism, scientific essay, interpretation of poetry etc.)
Assessment and permitted materials
With the help of exercises and control questions, the students show that they can use and apply the knowledge they have acquired.
The students prepare two written texts themselves, in which they critically examine the texts they have read.
In group presentations, the students present the most important areas of work in comparative literature and present the current teaching opinions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students recognize how to research well and use his / her knowledge gained from the research for scientific work.
The students see that the use of relevant bibliographical aids and the use of the most important specialist reference works (not only Google and Wikipedia !!!) is a prerequisite for good BA work.
The students create critical reflections on existing texts and show themselves firm creating specific texts. The prerequisite for a positive grade is the fulfillment of the minimum attendance: It is possible to stay away from the practice units three times with a plausible reason (!). If someone is absent more than three times, a positive grade is no longer possible or the overall grade will be "insufficient". Components for the grade are:
- active participation: 10%
- Execution of work tasks: 10%
- Group presentation: 10%
- Prepare two short written assignments: 20%
- final test: 50%
A positive grade can only be achieved if all of these partial performances are at least 60% fulfilled.
All students must complete a guided tour of the library (duration: 60 minutes).
