Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Reading of extracts from the babylonian poem of Erra.
Assessment and permitted materials
the text will be read in class; students are required to prepare for this; in addition, they will give short presentations on pertinent topics; students will take two written exams, one at mid-term, one at the end of the term.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course's aim is to improve the students' knowledge of Akkadian grammar and of the cuneiform script and to introduce them to Akkadian literature and literary language. Overview of critical approaches to editing Mesopotamian literary texts.
