Continuous assessment of course work

"European Islam", "Islam in Europe" , "Euro-Islam" etc. are concepts trying to project a kind normativity. One part of the Seminar will reflect on these normativities. The focus of the seminar will be on the practice of Muslims, male and female, living in Europe.

Reflection on the conceptual framework; knowledge about the life of Muslims in Europe (including theoretical reflections); history of Muslims in Europe

Assessment and permitted materials

Paper; presentation of Internet resources; presentations on specific issues; active participation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

A concept of practices of Muslims in Europe with substance.

Examination topics

Presenting Internet resources (according to a plan discussed in the first session); readings according to reading list; short presentations; discussions in class
