Aims, contents and method of the course

Religionen und Institutionsgeschichte von den Anfängen der schriftlichen Überlieferung im 3. Jt. vor Chr. bis in die Gegenwart.

Schriftliche Abschlussklausur.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Grundkenntnisse der altorientalischen "Gloaubenssysteme" in ihrem besonderen Zusammenhang mit der Entstehung der verschiedensten Institutionen in Gesellschaft, Staat und Politik. Grundkenntnisse der vorislamischen arabischen Religiosität, der Entwicklung des Islams bis in die Moderne unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Institutionen. Darstellung der besonderen Entwicklung im osmanischen Reich, Zentralasien und der Türkei unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der Institutionen.
