Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Introduction to the literary history of modern Turkey.
Application of literary criticism to the work of a modern Turkish author.
Method: instructive papers, short reports on research, discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

No final examination, therefore see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for a positive evaluation is constant active collaboration (missing twice is tolerated) and the writing of a seminar paper (Bachelor paper) (including a possible consultation talk thereon) of 20 pages on the work of a modern Turkish writer (description and literary criticism of a few short stories) according to the rules of good scholarly practice (among other things: no plagiarism! acceptable linguistic and stylistic level! correct citing!). The collaboration includes research on a small scale and reports on it as well as discussion.
Each partial accomplishment will be evaluated individually. The seminar paper (and possible consultation talk) will make up 80% of the evaluation, the collaboration 20% thereof.
