Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Introduction to Ottoman satire.
Application of literary criticism to the work of a modern Turkish author.
Method: instructive papers, short reports on research, discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance is mandatory, therefore see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for a positive evaluation is constant active collaboration (missing twice is tolerated) and the writing of a seminar paper (Bachelor paper) (including a possible consultation talk thereon) of 20 pages according to the rules of good scholarly practice (among other things: no plagiarism! acceptable linguistic and stylistic level! correct citing!). The collaboration includes research on a small scale and reports on it as well as discussion.
Each partial accomplishment will be evaluated individually. The seminar paper (and possible consultation talk) will make up 70% of the evaluation, the collaboration 30% thereof.
