Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Halikarnas Balikcisi's life and work; the question of authenticity of texts re-written according to the needs of the Language Reform. Comparative reading of extracts in class.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance is mandatory, therefore see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for a positive evaluation is constant active collaboration (missing three times is tolerated), giving a talk in class and the writing of a seminar paper (Bachelor paper) of 20-25 pages according to the rules of good scholarly practice (among other things: no plagiarism! acceptable linguistic and stylistic level! correct citing!).
The seminar paper and talk will make up 70% of the evaluation, the collaboration 30% thereof.
