Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Basic skills in scientific working and writing; reading, understanding, discussing and presenting of scientific texts. Transcription for Arabic. Calculation of Islamic dates. Researching literature; Bibliography and citing. Introduction to different forms of texts (review, abstract, essay, proposal, etc.). Introduction to theory and methodology.
Assessment and permitted materials
Four written exercises during the semester, presentation and discussion of texts, writing of a paper (proposal with correct scientific rules).
Participating and being present is required (three times missing will be tolerated, more often than this leads to a negative grade).
Grading: 40% paper, 20% Exercises, 20% Presentation, 20% Participation and Attendance
