Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course aims to introduce to the studentsthe development of international health with a focus on China case. It will review current theories and practices of international health development, global health governance, and international health aid, and explore the relevant settings, policies and practices in the context of China. This course also has a gender perspective with an emphasis on the exploration of the development and challenges of maternal and child health care in China with a link to theinternational health development. The course can help provide those students interested in pursuing a career in international and Chinese health development agencies with an up-to-date working knowledge of the field, and those interested in pursuing furtherstudies in the subject area with frontier knowledge of the debates and discussions of various issues.The course language is English.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students will have to give one presentation and write one course paper of at least 15 pages.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students have to attend class regularly and have to make a presentation (which can be a group presentation) as well as submit a course paper of at least 15 pages.
