Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course will deal with a selection of Sumerian votive inscriptions from various periods. Grammatical, paleographical and thematic issues will be discussed.
Assessment and permitted materials
the texts will be read in class; students are required to prepare for this and be ready to partecipate actively in the discussions held in class.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The course's aim is to improve the students' knowledge of Sumerian grammar and paleography, to enlarge their Sumerian vocabulary and to make them acquainted with the most important resaerch tools for working with Sumerian texts.
Examination topics
the texts will be read in class; students are required to prepare for this and be ready to partecipate actively in the discussions held in class.
Reading list
Bibliographical references will be given in the first meeting of the class.
