Aims, contents and method of the course

Vorstellung verschiedener Urkundengattungen und lektüre ausgewählter publizierter Beispielurkunden. In der Woche vom 11.-15. April ist ein Erasmus-Aufenthalt von Prof. Faruk Bilici, Paris geplant, der über Stiftungen (vaqf) und Paläographie sprechen wird. In der zweiten maihälfte ist ein Erasmus-Aufenthalt von Dr. Sánder Papp, Szeged geplant, der über die Auonomie der Walachei und Siebenbürgens sowie des Khanats der Krim anhand von Archivalien sprechen wird.

Assessment and permitted materials

Kurzreferate (in der vereinbarten Länge zum vereinbarten Termin mit Handout) zum angegebenen Thema, Mitarbeit, Vorbereitung der zu lesenden Texte. 2maliges Fehlen wird toleriert.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Fähigkeit, Urkunden anhand des Inhalts einer Gattung zuzuordnen, Vertrautheit mit der für den Inhalt und die diplomatische Analyse relevanten Sekundärliteratur, erste Versuche eigenständiger Entzifferung einer Urkunde.
Voraussetzung: Osmanische Paläographie und Diplomatik I.

Examination topics

Vortrag, Verteilung von Unterlagen, gemeinsame Lektüre, Kurzreferate.
