Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This is an introduction to applied statistics. Main topics of the course are (1) descriptive statistics (2) probability (3) random variables (4) inference.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students will be marked according to 3 different homeworks (20% each) and a final project (40%).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The objective of the course is for the students to acquire the foundations and skills necessary to carry out quantitative empirical research.

Examination topics

Descriptive statistics, probability, inference, regression analysis.

Any introduction to statistics.
