Zur positiven Benotung ist es erforderlich, einen der zu besprechenden Texte zu präsentieren und am Ende des Semesters eine kurze Arbeit zu verfassen. Weiters wird erwartet, dass die Studierenden die jeweiligen Texte für jede Stunde vorbereiten und sich aktiv an den Diskussionen beteiligen.

In dieser Übung werden wir uns mit der gelebten Kultur und Religion im indischen Teil des westlichen Himalayas (vor allem Uttarakhand und Himachal Pradesh) beschäftigen.
In der Gruppe werden wir anhand von historischen und ethnographischen Texten die Besonderheiten und Verbindungen zu den umliegenden Kulturen und Traditionen aufzeigen und besprechen.
Die vorzubereitenden Texte sind meist in Englisch verfasst, weitere Sprachkenntnisse sind für diese Übung keine Voraussetzung.
