Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
In dieser Veranstaltung wird Migration untersucht als Prozesse der Vernetzung, Interaktion und Rückkehr, der sich sowohl quantitative als auch qualitative im Zuge der stattfindenden Globalisierungsprozesse verändert hat. Im ersten Teil der Veranstaltung werden neue Migrationmuster, neue theoretische Ansätze und Debatten herausgearbeitet. Im zweiten Teil der Veranstaltung wird der Migration und Entwicklungsnexus analysiert und anhand von Fallbeispielen diskutiert. Insbesondere die Entwicklungsvorstellungen, die den Diskurs strukturieren, werden einer kritischen Reflektion unterzogen.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Die Studierenden sollen einen Überblick über die stattfindenden Migrationsprozesse und die neuen theoretischen Ansätze gewinnen und über die kontrovers geführte Diskussion über die Bedeutung von Migration für Entwicklungsprozesse.
