Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Ausgewählte politische Themen und Konflikte in der arabischen Welt und ihre Hintergründe. Ziel ist das bessere Verständnis der aktuellen Krisen. Erarbeitung von Kontext und Geschichte. Evtl. Beiziehung von Gästen (Diplomaten u.ä.).
Assessment and permitted materials
Keine Multiple Choice Prüfung! Für das Verständnis der Prüfungsfragen und deren Beantwortung sind ausreichende Deutschkenntnisse nötig!
Schriftliche Prüfung mit 3 Fragen (jeweils eine aus einem Block mit zwei Fragen auszuwählen). Insgesamt 30 Punkte sind zu vergeben (10 pro Frage), Höchstanzahl der 10 Punkte pro Frage nicht erreichbar mit einer minimalen Antwort. Antworten entsprechend den Regeln guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis!
Notenschlüssel: Sehr gut 27-30 Punkte, gut 23-26 Punkte, Befriedigend 19-22 Punkte, Genügend 16-18 Punkte, Nicht genügend 0-15 Punkte.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Lektüre von Fachliteratur und Zeitungsartikel sowohl auf Deutsch als auch auf Englisch. Einem österreichischen Reifeprüfungsniveau entsprechende politische und historische Allgemeinbildung wird vorausgesetzt.
