Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The main aim of this seminar is to practice and to improve the four skills of Arabic language through reading and interpreting Arabic modern literature of the Levant (Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine).
The seminar will also deal with the development of teamwork skills and the student´s capability to work with original sources.

Skills: Speaking skills, written skills, reading comprehension and listening comprehension. Theoretic background for further research.

Examination topics

In each lesson we will work with a selected text. The student must read the text in advance as well as the author’s biography. We will analyze difficult words and expression and after that we will proceed to translate the most interesting sentences. Besides, we will practice some grammatical questions and we will talk about the content of the text.
The work will be done in teams and the main language of instruction will be Arabic.
