Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course focuses on globalization studies and theories of globalization, historical forms of globalization and sub-areas that make up the sociology of globalization. These sub-areas include, among others: political globalization, the global economy, the new global inequalities, globalization and gender/race/ethnicity, globalization and culture, and transnational migration and citizenship. Particularly paying attention to Europe, it also attempts to discuss the relationship between globalization, transnationalization and nationalism.
Assessment and permitted materials
Presentation of an assigned course reading.
Two short in-class quizzes on the course readings and videos.
A short paper (ca. 2 pages) on an assigned website.
Final paper (ca. 15 pages)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Twenty points will derive from the presentation.
Twenty points will derive from two short in-class quizzes (ten points each).
