Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Die bislang vor allem im anglo-amerikanischen Raum und in manchen Ländern des globalen Südens etablierte politische Ökologie untersucht ökologische Fragen unter dem Aspekt sozialer Macht und Herrschaft. Seit ihrer Entstehung in den 1980er Jahren hat sie sich theoretisch in unterschiedliche Ansätze (marxistische, poststrukturalistische, feministische) ausdifferenziert. Diese Ansätze sowie ihre Anwendung auf aktuelle Umwelt- und Ressourcenkonflikte sind Gegenstand des Seminars.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Ziel des Seminars ist es, die Grundanliegen der politischen Ökologie sowie verschiedene theoretische Ansätze kennenzulernen und auf aktuelle Umwelt- und Ressourcenkonflitke anzuwenden.
Examination topics
LV-Methoden sind vor allem die Lektüre, schriftliche Zusammenfassung und Präsentation von Texten sowie die Anfertigung kleinerer Fallstudien (letzteres in Gruppenarbeit).
Reading list
Zu Beginn des Semesters wird ein Reader zur Verfügung gestellt.
