Aims, contents and method of the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The aim of this seminar is to provide the student with the necessary tools for being capable of understanding the Arabic language in the media. Also, a glossary with specific vocabulary of the media will be prepared.

Examination topics

In each lesson we will deal with one of the most common topics in the media (i.e. Conferences, negotiations, formal visits, elections, incidents, natural disasters, explosions, terrorism, etc.)
We will hear and read news and then we will analyze all the vocabulary and structures. After that we will do different exercises in order to practice the new contents.
We will work in teams. The main language of instruction will be Arabic.

Skills: Speaking skills, reading comprehension and listening comprehension.
