Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course will consist of a series of historical lectures dealing with Tibet’s history in general, yet placed against the background of its place within Eurasia. The relations between Tibet and the realms of China, the Mongols, the Tanguts and peoples further to the West as well as the respective influences both exerted on Tibet and generated from Tibet will be discussed. The period covered will range from Tibet’s imperial period up to the 20th century.
