In der Lehrveranstaltung werden grundsätzliche theoretische Ansätze, Begriffe und Konzepte der Menschenrechtspolitik aus politikwissenschaftlicher Perspektive vermittelt. Im Mittelpunkt steht sowohl eine Einführung in internationale Menschenrechtsinstitutionen als auch die Diskussion zentraler theoretischer Probleme der Menschenrechtspolitik wie z.B. Eurozentrismus, Universalismus, etc. Darüber hinaus wird die Frage der Menschenrechte auch aus staatstheoretischer, demokratietheoretischer oder machttheoretischer Perspektive erörtert und es werden auch noch spezielle Thematiken der Menschenrechtspolitik behandelt, wie z.B. Frauenrechte, die Rolle von NGOs und Menschenrechte in der Entwicklungspolitik.

Einführung in die politikwissenschaftliche Analyse am Beispiel der Menschenrechtspolitik. Kritische Auseinandersetzung mit Texten und Theorien. Verständnis und Anwendung von theorie- und begriffsorientierter Analyse.

Einführungen in die jeweiligen Themenbereiche durch die LV-Leiterin, Lektüre und Bearbeitung von Texten, Textanalysen, kurze Gruppenpräsentationen, Diskussion der Texte, Essay
