This course covers some of the key topics in Development Economics. The course will be taught at an introductory level. No prior knowledge of Economics is assumed.
This course will help you prepare for Alejandro Cunat's lecture next semester.

Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Different theories will be discussed, as well as the related empirical evidence and policy debates. Class participation is encouraged and reflected in students' grades. Students' presentation will be peer-evaluated

Examination topics

Students will be evaluated on the basis of their presentations during the course and written homeworks to be handed in regularly. Class participation will be noted and can improve students' grades.

Reading list

Literature will be discussed in the first class. We will cover among others Easterly and Krugman and economic readers.
