Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to convey basic knowledge of Turkish grammar. Based on the study guide “Türkische Grammatik I-IV” which is available in the office of the Department of Oriental Studies, grammatical topics like vowel harmony, negation, plural, personal pronouns, simple past, the cases, possessive suffixes, present tense etc. are propounded and explained (cf. the lessons 1-6 in the study guide). The content of teaching will be illustrated and discussed in more detail with the help of numerous examples and example sentences.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written examination. Registration for the examination dates via U:SPACE is absolutely necessary. Please bring your student ID.
No materials are permitted.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Written examination (20 questions, 5 points per question).
Grading system: 0-52 insufficient (nicht genügend)/53-65 sufficient (genügend)/66-77 satisfactory (befriedigend)/78-90 good (gut)/91-100 excellent (sehr gut).

Examination topics

Lessons 1-6 of the study guide “Türkische Grammatik I-IV” together with the additional explanations given in the course.
