Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar will deal in an intensive way with the book by North, Wallis, and Weingast. In addition to the content between the covers of the book, we will discuss in detail the the authors' economic concepts and historical interpretation.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral presentations, contributions to the debate, term paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Advanced knowledge of economic history, certain economic theories, about historical contextualization of international development and development research.
Examination topics
Discussions, presentations, preperatory short texts, term paper
