Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This two-part course (WS 2016/17 and SS 2017) focuses on the development (Part 1) and implementation (Part 2) of a research project.

It provides the opportunity to do research on the crisis-striken European capitalist development, its uneven integration process (between core and periphery), current disintegrative tendencies, and above all possible (regional) development alternatives.

Theoretical considerations from different disciplines can be the starting point for research questions that are to be linked to economics as a social science (political economy). The framework is a theory-based historical and empirical (regional) development research.

The aim of the course in the winter semester 2016/17 is to develop a design for a research project (Proposal & Design), to be implemented in the summer term 2017.

The research seminar combines individual and group work. Participants will discuss texts/issues/problems and present progress in their research. The lecturer accompanies this process with thematic inputs and short lectures.
