Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of the seminar is to discuss the state of art of the dissertation projects of the participants.Thematically the focus will be on development and/or gender. This means PhD students are welcomed who are focussing on these issues independently how far they are with their dissertations. We will further focus on methodological questions as well as methods. Depending on the participants we will discuss concepts, chapters or challenges concerning the analysi and interpretation of already collected empirical material.
Assessment and permitted materials
All participants will have to present their planned project, a chapter of the thesis or the current state of art. Furthermore all participants will have to discuss two oimportant books or articles which are of relevance for their thesis, either theoretically or methodologically.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Regular participation, preparations of the presentations and texts of the other students, reading of relevant literature and interest to discuss the texts and the work of the the other participants.
