Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Guidance in writing a seminar paper
Subject: The Turkish Language Reform.
Method: information on literature, reports on research, discussion.

Assessment and permitted materials

No final examination but see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirements for a positive evaluation are constant active collaboration (missing thrice at most is permitted), an oral report complete with handout, and the writing of a seminar paper (including a possible consultation talk thereon) in the form of a paper on some Ottoman chronograms (chosen by the student) according to the rules of good scholarly practice (among other things: no plagiarism! acceptable linguistic and stylistic level! correct citing!). The collaboration includes research on a small scale and reports on it as well as discussion. Each partial accomplishment will be evaluated individually. The seminar paper (and possible consultation talk) will make up 60 % of the evaluation, the oral report with handout and other collaboration 40 % thereof.
