Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Getting to know Arabo-Persian prosody and the genres and forms of Ottoman poetry (chronogram poems included).
Method: Instruction and exercise.

Assessment and permitted materials

No final examination, so see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for a positive evaluation is attendance (missing at most thrice is permitted) and active collaboration (preparation of practice texts and other homework) as well as positive results on small oral tests. The accomplishments regarding collaboration and tests (also possibly small written tests) will be taken as basis for evaluation in the ratio of 60:40.

Arabo-Persian prosody and genres of Ottoman poetry (chronograms included).
