Aims, contents and method of the course

The development of the Arab world is characterized by the extraction of resources and exporting the resources; to some extent, there are also productive industries. Internal migration also plays a role.
Attempts to change these structures have been emerging in recent years.

Assessment and permitted materials

1. Timely submission of a seminar paper in the range of 10-15 pages. 2. Preparation and active participation in discussions of assigned readings.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Minimum requirement for successful completion of the course is active participation and physical presence (2 absences will be tolerated), as well as the completion of a seminar paper (including possible reflection) in due time (deadline: 30.9.2022), in accordance with the demands of the lecturer and the guidelines of good scientific practice. Grading will be based on participation and the seminar paper at a 30:70 ratio.
