Aims, contents and method of the course

The goal of this course is to gain proficiency in reading inscriptions in Sabaic, Qatabānic, Minaic, und Ḥaḍramitic. All texts will be available on Moodle.

Assessment and permitted materials

On the exam, students must demonstrate their ability to translate an Ancient South Arabian inscription with the aid of dictionaries, grammars, and class notes.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

1 (100-91) = very good
2 (90-78) = good
3 (77-66) = satisfactory
4 (65-53) = enough
5 (52-0) = not enough*

*Those who receive 5 as a grade will fail the exam.
