Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Reading of selceted Turkish texts, intermediate level. Thematical focus: Well-known Ottomans.

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance is mandatory, missing thrice is tolerated.
The texts have to be prepared in advance; being unprepared = being absent. Three written tests - two interim tests and one final test (dictionary permitted).
1st test: 14 November 2022
2nd test: 12 December 2022
3rd test: 30 January 2023

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Excellent knowledge of German is mandatory.
The aim of this course is to acuqire the ability to translate texts according to their level in the Turkish original version.
Grading: 25% presence and preparations, 25% per test
Grading of the tests: A total of 100 points is reduced by 2 points for each important mistake and by 1 point for less important mistakes. Grades: 0-52 nicht genügend/53-65 genügend/66-77 befriedigend/78-90 gut/91-100 sehr gut

Examination topics

Texts have to be prepared at home in advance; they will be read together, problems, variants, grammatical structures will be discussed in class.
