Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course is an introduction to Ge'ez, i.e. Old Ethiopic. The lessons treat the grammar and basic vocabulary. Once we begin to read inscriptions, we will discuss cultural matters as well.
Assessment and permitted materials
Active participation and timely completion of all homework are essential for a good grade.

Examination topics
The final exam consists of a Ge'ez text for you to translate.

Our main textbook for this course is Stephan Prochazka's "Altäthiopische Studiengrammatik". Supplementary material will be uploaded to Moodle.
