Aims, contents and method of the course

Ability to read, transcribe and translate simple Ottoman prose texts of various periods with the help of a dictionary (printed texts, no manuscripts).

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment of course work, preparations of the texts and active participation are required. Three tests.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Compulsory attendance; preparation of the distributed texts.
Three compulsory tests, of which two have to be positive to successfully complete the course.

Examination topics

Grammar according to the course materials, translation and transliteration of a simple Ottoman text
