Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims and contents: Getting to know the genres and forms of Ottoman poetry
Method: instruction and exercise

Assessment and permitted materials

No final examination, but see under "Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab" (Minimum requirements and criteria of evaluation).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The minimum requirement for a positive evaluation is attendance (missing at most thrice is permitted) and active collaboration (preparation of practice texts and other homework) as well as positive results on small oral tests. The accomplishments regarding collaboration and tests (also possibly small written tests) will be taken as basis for evaluation in the ratio of 60 : 40. Change due to the fact that teaching now has to take place online: In addition to the informative text (Scriptum), information is sent continuously to the students per mail. They are also given weekly homework, which is partly written work that has the character of a small test. This written part is then checked and commented and returned to the students. Questions of the students are asked and answered by mail or phone. The homework is at present the only way to check the work done and the progress made.

Examination topics

Genres and forms of Ottoman poetry.

Reading list

Informative text and information on further literature. The students will also be sent pdfs of articles per email.
