Written examination* at the end of the term, comprising grammar as well as conversation. Dictionaries or other tools are NOT permitted !!!*COVID-19: in the case of 'uni-lockdown' other test methods possible (e.g. orally, online ...)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Written exam in two parts, grammar and conversation.
Grammar: theoretical questions, morphology, short translation. Max. 100 cred. (Grading system: 0-52 insufficient (nicht genügend)/53-65 sufficient (genügend)/66-77 satisfactory (befriedigend)/78-90 good (gut)/91-100 excellent (sehr gut)

The aim of the course is to convey basic knowledge of Turkish grammar. Based on the study guide “Türkische Grammatik I-IV” which is available in the office of the Department of Oriental Studies, grammatical topics like vowel harmony, negation, plural, personal pronouns, simple past, the cases, possessive suffixes, present tense, cardinal numbers etc. are propounded and explained (cf. the lessons 1-6 in the study guide). The content of teaching will be illustrated and discussed in more detail with the help of numerous examples, example sentences as well as supplementary materials. Buying the study guide is strongly recommended. (study guide can be purchased at the office of the Department of Oriental Studies)The aim of the conversation course is to convey basic knowledge of communication (Turkish) - pronounciation, greeting, getting to know smb, phrases and short converations.*COVID-19: in the case of 'uni-lockdown' other teaching methods possible (e.g. Hybrid Teaching, E-Learning)
