Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this course is to provide basic knowledge of Turkish grammar. Based on Kolay gelsin! neu.A1-A2: Turkish for Beginners, grammatical topics of Turkish such as vowel harmony, negation, plural, personal pronouns, past tense, case, possessive suffixes, present tense, cardinalia, etc. are presented and explained. The course content is illustrated and discussed in greater detail using numerous examples, sample sentences, and supplementary materials. Purchase of the book is strongly recommended.
In the conversation part of the course, the content learned in the grammar part will be deepened by means of exercises, and basic areas of communication in Turkish will be acquired (pronunciation, greetings - farewells, getting to know each other, everyday phrases, short conversations on various topics).

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam on the material covered according to Kolay Gelsin! The exam includes grammar questions (formation of forms, suffix analysis) as well as simple translations and answers to simple questions. No dictionary allowed!

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquisition of basic knowledge of the Turkish language. After one semester, simple conversations should already be possible. Assessment standard:Total 100 points.
(Grading system: 0-52 not sufficient/53-65 sufficient/66-77 satisfactory/78-90 good/91-100 very good)
