Aims, contents and method of the course
The course is an introduction to the special features of Vedic language and culture based on commented reading of selected passages of the Vedic corpus. The goal of the course is to acquire the skills necessary to read and understand Vedic texts in their cultural context.
Assessment and permitted materials
The proficiencies necessary for the course are:
- preparation of selected text passages
- active participation during classes
- a seminar paper consisting of the philological discussion of a small Vedic passage
