Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The major objective of this class is to enable students, under expert guidance and supervision, to read and analyse some of the selected writings from Nepali literature. We will read selected autobiographical writings by Nepali women, who lived and struggled in the 20th century. We will focus on what kind of struggle they had to face in the life and how did they solve them. Another focus of this class is to observe awareness of female right in Nepal during that period. Our course aims at development of overall proficiency in the language and knowledge of issues concerning the Nepalese women in the Nepalese society now and then. Furthermore, it concerns the current questions and discourse in contemporary Nepalese society about women.
