Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of this class is to learn how to read and comprehend classical Tibetan texts. I will explain the readings in simple modern Tibetan and also train the students to read correctly, which is the key factor to understand the text correctly. The aim of this class will be to gain fluency in reading classical texts and building vocabularies.

Assessment and permitted materials

Reading examination 50%
Oral examination 50%

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Advanced fluency in written and spoken Tibetan. Assessment is based on active and regular attendance.

Examination topics

Reading a selection of paragraphs from Theg pa chen po zhen pa bzhi bral gyi sgom khrid and doing an oral translation of it.

The text will be available in the classroom.
